Snuggle Buddies

These dogs of ours sure do love to snuggle! I'm always catching them in funny positions -- usually with Ella resting her head on sweet Henry -- and I run to get my camera. We have more photos of our dogs than we do of us!

Today, Ella ended up with her head on Henry's back leg, above, then he casually placed his other leg across her shoulder. Pretty cute, these two! They get along so nicely, you'd think they had grown up together. Instead, we adopted them as adults six months apart. Such a blessing that we have them -- and that they have each other.

  3. Love the pooch photos. There is nothing cuter when dogs pile up on each other. Well, maybe when cats and dogs pile up on each other.

Your elastic band dog-tag silencer is a good idea...I bought a new collar and dog-tag for Odin the other day, and the tinny jingle-jangle WAS driving me nuts...until I saw your photo!

    Bingo! Thank you!

    1. So glad you found the rubber band idea useful ... I was actually thinking when I posted this photo today that I had wished her tags weren't showing. The rubber band is rather ugly and obtrusive in photos, however it IS effective!

  4. Awww, they are staying warm and cozy while it is so bitter cold outside. Rubberband great idea. So wonderful they have each other. We always had two dogs for most of the years we were raising our kids. We are about to bring home a little golden doodle puppy in a few weeks. Out of the puppy habit, it will be an adventure!

    1. So happy to hear your news, Cindy! Yes, a puppy will be an adventure. They are a lot of work, but so worth it. I love our older dogs, but I often wonder what they were like as puppies, and I'm so curious about their "former lives." When you raise a dog from puppyhood, you can really train it the way you want it to be. It does take a lot of discipline though. I can't wait to see photos of your new pup! Boy or girl?

    2. Thank you, Claudia! We are ready for another dog in our life. It has been 10 months since we lost Andy. I have been looking at rescues for the last several months, for a little poodle mix puppy of some kind, without any success. Our friends in Atlanta were adopting an adorable F1 doodle puppy from an ethical breeder in North Georgia. We fell in love with her puppies. Puppy will be under 35 pounds. We are donating to our local shelter here in his name. We will pick him up at the end of February, counting the days! Now we are re-equipping our home with all his needed crate and supplies, all of Andy's things went to the shelter in Beaufort. It is a little boy we named Bodhi. Ohh he is so cute, will send you a pic!
