We'll plan an obligatory trip to see Eric's parents in the south of France later this fall when it cools off a bit. It's next to impossible for Eric to get time off during summer, since that's his busiest time of year. It was fun to just hang around at home and relax.

Merle's Door is a tear-jerker, but it's one of those books I take off the bookshelf from time to time for a re-read.

I'll try and get a post up on my blog soon, promise!Shim Farmhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18148782353052767022noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6855559240091587971.post-40251068594027705062015-08-04T21:52:11.240-04:002015-08-04T21:52:11.240-04:00Thanks, Ann. I'll have to borrow a copy of Merle's Door from the library. The only thing is, these dog stories usually make me cry. Did you go somewhere for your two weeks of vacation? Your patio set sounds lovely -- do share some photos on your blog please!
ClaudiaMy Little Bungalowhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17661291354573889109noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6855559240091587971.post-18210084339620125192015-08-04T21:02:39.874-04:002015-08-04T21:02:39.874-04:00Well hello! Your beautiful dahlia photo is absolutely breathtaking.

So happy to hear you are having a nice summer and enjoying the bounty that comes with it. Your photos speak for themselves.

I can't remember if I've read A Good Dog, but I've read A Dog Year, The Dogs of Bedlam Farm and Running to the Mountain - I'm quite sure I've left one or two out. Along the same line, if you haven't already read it, I'd highly recommend (as in, buy it now!) Ted Kerasote's Merle's Door, one of the finest books I've ever read. I love a good dog book and have a huge collection!

I was on vacation for 2 weeks and returned back to work on Monday, but I've resolved to take every Friday off in August so I can keep the vacation vibe going with 3-day weekends.

We bought a beautiful new patio set in ipé wood (I think you'd approve!), so we've been enjoying dinners al fresco, and I've been knitting up a storm, feeling guilty about the weeds growing all around me...

The days are already getting shorter and the nights cooler, but we're not done with summer yet, are we?Shim Farmhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18148782353052767022noreply@blogger.com
